  5. K-EM is a comprehensive human resource management system. It has been developed
  6. in Progress 4GL, enabling the introduction of colour screens, windowing
  7. facilities and other "state-of-the-art" technologies. The core system
  8. database holds basic employee information required for the Personnel
  9. department, such as personal details, training, salary and job history records.
  10. Optional modules include: payroll; absence/SSP; recruitment; training and post
  11. administration and diary facilities; and they all share a single database with
  12. the K-EM system. A wide range of features are available as standard such as
  13. help screens; history windows, with automatic recording; quick enquiry; blanket
  14. update; and on-screen calculations to name but a few. Total security control
  15. provides comprehensive facilities for database update and enquiry at field and
